If anyone was on fourdyce this last weekend, you might have seen my blue 89 GMC longbed. I have already taken it through rubicon three times this year, and decided to try fourdyce. It seems that my transfer case exploded and fell out at the bottom of winch hill 4. Luckily, I had a spare. However, I need to replenish my spare. If anyone has or knows where a 241-c tranfer case is, let me know. They are found in any 89-99 chevy trucks, blazers, suburbans, or tahoes. Thanks Trevor

If I did have a 205, I wouldn't have been changing the transfer case on the trail. Even though the 205 is stronger, the front drive shaft is on the wrong side. My truck was IFS. When I put the straight axle in, I used a Ford reverse cut 44. I don't think chevy even makes a reverse cut. Not to mention, low range on 205 is somewhere around 2.1. The 241 low range is 2.72. I only have 4.10 gears and I can still crawl. Thanks for the reply. Maybe I will see you around danville. Look for a dard blue 89 GMC with Fleetside converted to a stepside via the little sluice. hey trevor use a ford 205 mated to a 203 for a doubler and you will have both a 2:1 and a 4:1 low rangeand can crawl even slower.

I will watch out for ya - I drive a white FJ62; my son has a blue FJ40 with Swampers - I am building a 40 right now (a black one) should be on the street in a few weeks) and the trail a week or so after that. Andy

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention it, but four weeks back we wheeled Fordyce all the way through on Saturday, drove over to the Rubicon, and drove through Sunday - one heck of a weekend! Andy

Cross in a Ford NP 205. Try to find one out of a HighBoy. it is divirced and can be made to work with a tailshaft kit for a 2wd

Thanks for the info guys. I found another spare 241 for $100 so I think I will fucus my time on getting my jeep running. It would make things a lot easier for me. Bigger might not be better!

You might be able to swap in a chevy 203 and put a ford 205 on the back of that with a doubler.
