I have a 97 tj 4.0 auto, I am swapping the auto out for an nv4500 the question is on the auto there is a plug(some kind of safety i think:confused:)anyway what needs to be done to bypass this plug?Or if I get a cpu from a manual jeep that work

You have 2 connectors;
PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH CONNECTOR and CONVERTER CLUTCH SOLENOID CONNECTOR.
You can see these in the OEM service manual...

i have to ask. why an nv4500? why not just get an nv3550 out of a later jeep? also, i' might just look for a jeep that has the same options as yours but with a manual and pull the computer.

Don't know if 97 4.0 is the same as 94 4.0 but the crank position sensor is mounted on auto bellhousing right behind engine on rh side.
