I have a 68 Scout 800 will an auto tranny from a V8 Scout bolt up to the 196 in mine??? PLease help.

Finding a torque converter that is the correct stall for the 4 banger is another consideration as well.binderbound said:

The 4 cyl needs all the help it can get when it comes to laying down power and the auto doesnt help in a daily driver. In a dedicated trail rig or crawler it 'might' be ok if you had enough gears (crawl box, 5.88's, etc...)

Higher than stock stall speed. Not sure what stock 727 is. Somewhere around 1,600 - 1,800? Looser would be anything higher. I'd guess 2,200 to 2,400 would be about right.binderbound said:
