i love my tripples. i never have to touch the gas in the lowest gear. it makes wheeling much more controlled and graceful in the tough situations. for my crossmember i just got a stock one, cut off the ends, welded angle iron on each end, then welded angle on the frame where i wanted it to bolt on, drilled holes for bolts and slapped it on. i mounted it to the last tcase. i eventually want to make one that mounts to 2 or maybe even all three tcases. i just made this one real quick so i could go wheelin.

We just had a big long thread aboot this
The AA I got is the same one Marlin designed and sold a few years ago,he made an improvement in the bearing design to be different from any others out there. AA makes both for him. He makes[has made 4 him] 4.7:1 gearsets, AA sells 4.0:1 gearsets called "trail Tamers", other adapters out there are
SloMotion by Pirate Member Troy Muse, his is double length of the AA[12"], InchWorm, Marlin,JeepEater, his uses the toyota adapter that toyota used in the 1st 4 speeds to the t-case, + his adapter. They work well in 79-83 toyota's with the shorter trans, because it makes the front driveshaft longer, it is a lil short to start with, I also ran one in my old 82, it is the length of a tripple.
Inchworm, made by a Guy that uses this BB, it is similar to the AA in design and size, adding only 7"s or so to the length like the Marlin and AA
Marlin, has the newer double bearing, nobody has been having trouble with the older desing[AA] but he wanted to upgrade anyway.
JeepEater, about the same length as the others, under 7"s, his is made from a billit I think instead of cast, I think he may make both now, anyone with that info please chim in.
Hope this helps out, do a serch for the other thread too

I don't know yet. my old 82 LB with the rear axle moved back 1,5" they were within 3", on my 88 Xcab the 44044's move the axle foward 1.5" and my front hanger I made it move the axle foward 4", I thought the 44044's didn't move the axle foward at the time, but with the 39.5"s, I'm happy the axle is 5.5" foward now

I just bought a 4Runner (the morning of the 11th), hopefully he will spend the money and not bank it. He was talking about buying stocks if the market went down.

Not that I'm trying to piss any one off, but if you run triple, aren't you doing almost exactly what Marlin and other gear manufacturers recomend not to do. When you go to the lower gears, 4:1 or 4.7:1, they say to put them in the rear case so you don't blow the rear set. With the triple your putting 5.2:1 to the rear case which is even more torque. Just my .02.

Yes you are correct I don't care though and it is in the rear case just as he says MARLI himself runs tripples though........He he, with I belive 2 4.7 gearsets I'm not recomending that anyone else go tripple....where has DRM been the last few days

Well since Seabass stated his opinions I will state mine. I know people who are running three of the four units and all of them are quite happy with them and the quality of the workmanship. While the AA, one from AP is a bit cheaper; I prefer the Marlin unit because of the great customer service that Marlin gives and how he stands behind his products. From what I understand, Inchworm stands behind his products also.
Which every one you chose you will wonder how you ever wheeled with out it.

'K' tie to chime...
I run a double (asa the truck runs again ) and am way lazy right now or just to friggin buisy. and dropped the x-member to the second case and just welded it up to the frame. on three other flipsides there is cutting off the existing frame extentions and re-welding them back the what seven inches to the second of three cases and holesaw and reweld in nuts for the second inframe bolt holes.I think DRM or DSI or DR.Luvvvvv or someone runs the u-bolt thing over the frame with like a 1/4 or 1/2 inch plate to extend out the x-members "legs" cuz the frame stratens up back there.I plan on the DRM crossmember and bending up my own setup. I know a guy that runs three and he said his drivelines were the same on a custom 82? I also wonder about the shifters though. I threw in my second and with the 86 tranc the shifter for the t-case is in the trans and so Center to center of the shifters to cut was like 10.5? you would have to go with an old school third case and second so that you could just drop shifters on top 6-7 not 10-12 inches back. Even with a x-cab I don't want to reach (sea)bass acwards to shift ya know...
