Yeah ok I got one, done from mostly tube now. Took me a weekend of cutting the bashed top off and fabbing all the tubing. Used my harbor frieght bender. I'll be glad when the JD3 bender gets here though. Takes a bit of time to get it right as far as bends go. http://albums.photopoint.com/j/ViewPhoto?u=1734322&a=13512220&p=51873692&f=0

Coiled.....it took a weekend??? That seems damn fast to me...then again I have never done a project like that, but it still seems fast. Looks pretty good too. How hard was that to do as far as bending the metal???
Anyone have any idea how much it would cost to do something like this??? Im using pipe though because I only have a cheep pipe bender I need prices though?????
between 200$ and 20,000$
forildo, i wouldnt do it with pipe and a cheap bender. save up for some real tools if'n your aimin for a sweet tubed rig.....brad
If you are gunna use pipe then you might want to just find a local scrap yard where they sell it by the pound. It didn't take me long because I had done one before hand, just added a bit more this time around. That is a weekend of working all day long too. So it really was a lot of work. Make sure you get good pipe though. I have found that even certain kinds of tube will bend up ok in your pipe bender so long as it isn't anything too sharp of a bend, but you have to be choosy there as well. 1 3/4 worked well for me.
alot of hard work goes into these but they just arent my bag. I'll never see one of these guys on a snow run.... My truck is topless and all but with my soft top and my heater I can wheel all winter, these guys are pretty much stuck freezing their asses off.
Ok, I know that pipe is a bit more brittle than tube, right? At slow rollovers does it really make a differance with pipe or tubing? Just asking. I am thinking of a jd2 and I'm not sure if I need to for the price or to just stay with the harbor freight. wht is the real diff between 2" sch 40 and say 1 3/4" 120 wall tubing?

Now if you'd been a good boy and done the whole drivetrain from a Toy like I told you to, we might let you keep hanging around over here if you're nice .
