this one worth a hoot? anybody got one like it? Looks like it doesn't come with a hose.. that I will need.

I will also need to get a guage setup sometime to go with it, or is that the only way to connect it up to the system?

I've got one of those, and a real Robinair pump too. They work, but they need a BIG compressor and they use a LOT of air. If you're going to be doing any regular work in AC, get a real two stage pump.

Get yourself a real vacuum pump. That one just doesn't cut the mustard.

so that is not an electric pump.... guess it isn't what I was looking for.

That pump uses the venturi effect with compressed air. It's not electric.
