I seem to have a really annoying vibration lately ever since put my dshaft back on. The Vibration and noise only happens when decelerating from speeds over 100km\h to about 90km\h (I am a CDN). All the joints seem tight. Could tightening my pinion nut make a difference?

If is loose yes. <IMG SRC="smilies/jester.gif" border="0"> Did you phase the u-joints when you put the d-shaft back in? If they are out of phase you will get a vibe also!! That is why you are supposed to match mark them before removal. Phaseing is when the u-joints are on the same plane on each end. Another reason is the d-shaft is balanced and if you put the slip joint back in the wrong place it will be out of balance causeing vibes.

This is one of the reasons that I tell people to get a Factory Service Manual and read up on what the hell you are trying to do. They tell you a lot of stuff that you need/should do. A lot of people think that the match marks do no need to be done, and Toyota must own stock in the paint pencil company. I have been building stuff for 40+years and I still read up on what I am going to do. If you cannot read get a book on tape and listen.

Are 100% sure that when you put the drive shaft together, it was perfectly "square" (the universal Joints that is). I had the same problem occur (would vibrate at about 80-90kms) turned out thatI didn't put the pieces together perfectly.

mine vibrates at the same speeds, what if the guy that set up your r&p decided to wash off your matchmark, how do you get it to stop vibrating????

Then use a center punch or get Spicer joints, they have a mach mark arrow and the u-joints are a lot easier to change!!!

If the pinion is tight, then it could be the driveshaft is angled down too far. Ideally you want to be 1 or 2 degrees low on the bottom end. If you are at 2 degrees or more low, the pinion will tip down under deceleration and vibrate. Try measuring the angles and see where its sitting now:

If its a u-joint shaft, make sure they are phased right end to end.

I had a really bad vibe until i put a cv on my driveline which sounds kinda like yours. How are your driveline angles? pinion angles?
