Hey all
Looking to replace my blown up tranny in my 85 4runner 22re. Looking to upgrade it to a W56 C,D or E 4wd tranny (low mileage or rebuilt). I'm up in norcal near Fairfield. Willing to drive ~ 100 or so miles to pick it up for the right price.
Thanks

I didn't realize there was much advantage from one W series to the next. The only differences I have noticed are the rear casting and the positioning of shifters.

I have an R151F, T-Case, And bellhousing if you want one. The ultimate toyota transmission for your application. These are noticeably heavier, have larger gearsand bearings, and have a lower 1st gear (4.3 vs. 3.9 IIRC). PM me or call if interested.

and the worl d class synchro make it nicer than the earliers and the bearing on the output shaft that doen't need to be detroyed to take apart the trans like the earlier ones too. jack o'brien actually modified his 85 w56 into a world class trans and had the extension housing hogged out by his machinest to run the 93 bearing. he only has to order one kit for his trans now, and still has the correct case for his 85.
