ok, just got my Warn M8000 Very excited, but I have no idea as to how to mount the solenoid. Not in the instructions or anything. Anyone ever done this? Thanks!!

There should have been some mounting brackets that came with it - it is usually mounted over the drum with those brackets that bolt to the rear of the housing...

some people mount the under the hood...behind the front clip area to keep it from being submerged...even seen it mounted in the cab, but having high amperage lines goiing thought the firewall aint my cup-o-tea

If you purchased a Warn mount to go with you winch, there will be a bracket for mounting the control pack. If you have the winch only, you can fashion a bracket out of some flat stock.

I used band clamps and mounted it on winch motor till I get the warn bracket.

I used clamps and mounted it vertically to the passenger side of the grille. Works great and doesn't block air flow.
