I have pulled apart my Warn 9000# winch and cleaned up everything but am looking for a convenient source of Molylube 1 or Aeroshell 17 grease.

I am told a 14 oz tube will be enough for one rebuild.

Any sources for this or equivalent would be appreciated.

I got mine from my friendly neighborhood helicopter A&P guy. Go to your local airport and find a repair shop. They buy in large amounts and will likely give/sell you some.

Same for me, it wasn't a warn though.
Well.. I had a bitch of a time trying to find that grease... so I called Warn, and I want to say it was their tech that told me any grease would do.. any molylube style grease.. BUT since I barely remember the conversation, don't take my word for it.

winch

all you need to be able to do is fill the teeth of he ring gear and same on the end housing (were the clutch lever is duh). it help to add alittle grease on the sun gear part of the 1st and 2nd stage gears as you put them back toether, kinda like a assembly lube. Just keep the grease out of the brake and drum tube. Grease will cause the brake to fail duh..
