Does anyone have a recommendation on weather pack connector kits? I searched Amazon and there are a lot to choose from. I'm wiring my new buggy build with minimal electrical, maybe only 12 connectors needed.

I bought a kit and soon realised that almost every connection was a 2 or 4 pin that I needed. Next one I wired I went on delcity and ordered the end connectors and seals that I needed.

i bought a kit and used a few of the 6 pin and 4 pin conectors...then used all the single pin and 2 pin connectors. i now buy the singles and doubles in bulk.

my next rig will be wired with deutch connectors. weatherpacks are good for 1 and 2 pin connections. any more than that and the deutch connectors are way more compact.

Both of these. Switch pros is an awesome compact unit and deutch is far superior to weatherpack. If you go that route, do yourself a favor and splurge on the nicer crimp tool like this one.

There are cheaper versions out there that look the same, this is the only one I've used though.

Another vote for the Deutsch connectors, specifically the DT series, which are sealed. I used to do custom wiring harnesses for large drill trucks with remote control cabs and originally started using weatherpack/metricpack, which need special tools for assembly/disassembly. The Deutsch just snap together once crimped, just buy a quality crimper.

I got one off eBay, not sure the brand I can check tomorrow. Big ass kit, lots of connectors. Not saying weatherpack is the best but my kit was nice

I bought one of the Ebay weatherpack kits a long time ago. Mostly use the 2 pin connectors. I bought refill kits for the common wire sizes and buy the connector housings separate now from mcmaster.

After having worked with them at my day job for a couple years, I like the Deutsch connectors better and have started using those.

Thank you for putting the link out there. i was wondering what tool to use.

About the switch pros unit, can you fully wire a rig with it ?

I'm thinking LS computer, fuel pump, LED lights (bars + rock lights), stereo etc ? Or that would be too much for the little unit ?

let the computer control the fuel pump via a relay, last thing you want is to roll over the motor to die and the fuel pump to continue to run.

depending on the number of circuits and how much control you want i see no reason you couldnt have it control the whole vehicle. if you needed you can add another controller. they are good for a total of 125amps

Note it's for the solid connectors. My dumb ass bought a bunch of crimp style stamped ones from Del-City, and I'm less than a fan. Keep that in mind when you order.
