Checking in. I had an 02 Runner on 37's, Dana 44 front, stock with e locker back, 5.38/5.29 gears etc. I fabbed it up in 2012 but got stupid and sold it a couple years later. Now I have some tons, coilovers, tcases and other stuff I'm getting ready to stuff under a 2000 Runner. Been getting great info off this forum for the last 10 years.
Winter rig is a 3rd gen 4R on 33's.
Summer rig is an 87 FJ60 on 33's.
First wheeler was a complete POS 91 single cab SAS, locked on 37 Boggers, Chevys and RUFS.
Just picked up an 89 Xtra Cab from Washington and passed the 91 on to a friend for dirt cheap to get him into wheeling. New rig is already SAS'd but been sitting on jackstands unfinished for a couple years before I got it. RCV's, air locker, doubler and a bunch of other goodies waiting to be buttoned up.
Work out of a friends shop and am still a newb to hardcore fab, but he is not and helps me out considerably - even for a Jeep guy.
Anyway - lurked on Pirate alot over the years but figure I should get active.
90 4runner. Long travel desert truck. Built to be a chase truck for the race car. Strapped at 17" rear, 12" front (total chaos up front, deavers and custom rocker shock setup I built in the rear because I didn't want to cut into the interior). In the middle of a 1uzfe swap. Definition of never ending project.
94 4runner. Bought cheap as a parts truck for the above because p/o thought it had a blown head gasket and I wanted it for the interior. $20 for an oil cooler coolant hose and it runs great and is now a daily. 3.slow, but whatever, it's ok, seems a hair faster than the 22re that puked itself in the desert rig (which means it's slow as shit). Anyhow, it works well as a dd but I kind of want to 3 link the front now because stock IFS doesn't flex at all.
I'm a noob I guess. I was registered on here years ago, but fell off the map. Im originally from NW Washington. The military has me going all over the place and I'm currently in Kansas. I have a 79 pick up that's your basic cookie cutter build. I'm about to do an engine swap and tons. Looking forward to getting this thing up and running again since its need sitting for 4 years.
This is my 89' SR5 that I've owned since 2005. I have put 6 different motors in it over the years. I've left it laying in a field for multiple years, I beat on it, I broke it, abused it, and finally I have decided to rebuild it.
The project is far from complete but if I don't start sharing some of the information and pictures I may never get around to actually organizing it.
I used to have an account here but it's been so long that I forgot that account name. We are a family of Toyota owners, working on my son's 88 pickup now and need some help. I'll use the search function and see what I can find. Thanks!
I've been building trucks since my teens, both mini and fullsize, bagged to lifted. Just got my first (that I'm going to build) 86 4runner. plan is to build a very capable family friendly wheeler. has no motor, trans or transfer. i have a spare 22re, so planning to use that, go with dual cases and still on the fence about going full width axles or not. i have axles, and fab shop so wouldn't cost me much, especially if i stay leaf. id rather only build axles once then swap it out later like some people say. if the truck was complete when i got it that would be more understandable.
Newb type #1 here. Picked up a 1988 regular cab shortbed pickup. I've been a Toyota fan for a long time and owned a Tacoma and an FJ Cruiser in the past. I switched over to a muscle car in 2017. I love my car but I missed having a 4x4, especially in the winter so I started hunting for an older pickup. There are a lot of disappointments out there and running a VIN check saved me a couple of times. (FYI for anyone buying a vehicle in MN, if the the vehicle is older than 6 years or valued less than 5000 and ends up totaled - it is not titled as salvage, it can be fixed up and will have a clean title. The only way to find out if it was totaled out by an insurance company is a VIN check.) Anyway, I found this gem of a truck, rust free frame and body in pretty good condition overall, recently tuned up engine, new tires and paint. It still needs a few things done but nothing major. I've been scouring this forum and yotatech for ideas and information and both have proven useful. Hopefully at some point I can add to the knowledge base.
New to the Toyota world. Was recently given a 95' T-100 with low miles (165K) and in overall great shape. It's only a 4x2, but hey, it was free!! Have made a couple quick fixes to get it on the road. I had been a long time user of PBB back PK (pre-kids) but have been off for some time. Long enough I couldn't seem to recover my old account so I created this new one. I know this is the best place for info on any kind of truck/4x4 so with this new to me truck wanted to check in and become familiar with the Toyota page so I know where to come when issues arise.
I have an 81 Toyota solid axle pick up and I am thinking about converting it to a small block so I can get away from the manual steering right now I am bobbing the bed it has 35s on stock suspension everything in the truck is stock number where do you guys think about small block swaps or maybe just finding a power steering system for the original motor that’s in it
Figured I should start a thread to archive my build progress, and to allow myself to get roasted by the rest of y'all 😆

Well this revamp sucks but i think i can post pics because of it so going to document my build of the last 10 years. Warning not all pictures are going to be high quility. I dont have hrs to devote to making this thread right away so it will probably take a couple weeks to get cought up with...
Decided it's time to finally do a build thread on the buggy. Finally got a shop of my own. Started life as a 85 4 runner and has gone through many phases as my love for the hobby has grown. Plans for this phase are 3 link front, 3rz and to finish tube work finally. I back half ed it and linked...
