Im going to have my Dana 60 rear welded up tomorow (until i can afford a locker) should i take it out or do it in the housing? if i remove the carrier will i be able to get it out without a case spreader?or for that matter will i be able to get it back in?

I left mine in, just cause I'm lazy and couldn't see any reason to take it out. If you doin it with a mig as opposed to a stick I could see how you might need to take it out to have room to work. Just plan on spendin a while to get the housing clean

another vote for taking it out. You can rotate the side gears with the cross shaft out and weld the tops of the gears together.

Take it out. You don't want the spatter fucking up your gears and bearings.

Yes, you can take it out and get it back in without a case spreader.
