I need to weld up some shock mounts on my housing....they are going to be on the outer part of the axle near the perch...

any problems with welding on the housing, will I have to post heat

Shouldn't be any problem. Just grind all the paint away & weld them on. Take your time, & weld a small area at a time. Switch from side to side to keep the heat down. Shouldn't have to pre or post heat it.

Make sure your breather is not clogged so you don't blow out any seals and you might want to change the gear oil after you've boiled & burned it. <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0">

yeah probibly should change the gear oil....it is that time of the decade <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0">

When you change the gear oil I would recommend you use AMSOIL as it is a full synthetic not just a blend. I am a distributer if you have a hard time finding some locally.

I would buy sinthetic....but im gunna have to cash in my change bucket if I want to change the oil....there is an amsoil guy down the street.sorry :poor:

I am setting up tpo weld the brackets for my 3-link. I was planning on bolting back up the 3rd member and axles to keep supported to prevent it from distorting, should I fill it up with some kinda fluid to keep it cool. H2O or oil perhaps??? It is totallly torn down and stripped of paint and would be torn down again after welding.
