Sounds kind of dangerous! Since our engines do not have an external vibration dampener, they drill holes in the back side of the crank timing sprocket to maintain some sort of balance. By welding a crank pulley, the least little bit of off-center or uneven weld, you have destroyed that balance and will eventually tear the crank bearings out.

I've done this three times now, and all the rigs are still running without any problems.

I used the stock water pump pulley from 79 toyota celica milled back off then welded to stock sammi crank pulley it's a nice fit.
