You morons, those are in the spindles, they are what keep the stub shaft part of the birf somewhat centered on the spindle..

The solid axle DOES have brass bushings in them but mine looked a just a little different. I'm sure if you had Toyota run the part number they would tell you for sure.

I know that IFS uses bushings also but they had problems with chattering so Toyota put out a TSB on replacing them with roller needle bearings.

i rebuilt my front diff did not check the brass bushings put it all togeather then blew the axle seals short time after. if your in there check and replace them before you have to rip it a part again. My axles had a lot of slop in them with the worn brass bushings.

Yep if they are so worn the axle will take the axle seal out. I wish they would have rotated the bushing to see if the hash cuts are in the sides. Earlier ones did not have this then Toyota changed designs for better luberication.

Doh! I remember those things! But mine did not look that clean when I pulled them out of my axle. Yeah, so, I'm an AIRHEAD sometimes. Just like 3 days ago...you have to move the tape measure when you are cutting on a bandsaw and have the length marked on your piece of steel Boy, that tape sure does roll ALL the way up in there. Hey it was late.

I just checked the part numbers, they are the correct spindle bushings for the solid axle toys, Cruisers too. If you look carefully at the left one in the picture, you can barely see the grooves. I just replaced these in mine about 2 months ago, I think I paid about $20 a piece for them. So his "Buy Now" price isn't very good, when you throw in shipping.
