this weekend I thrashed my stock steering. the TRE's are shot, nothings too bent but I have swapping it and on a low budget other wise the womans gonna kill me..

what i need is a drag link and tie rod for my D30 on my 88 SUA YJ.

guess i should say this is just a learner truck, i'm getting a TJ in 2 years so this YJ aint getting any bigger (4" lift and 33's) than it is now. I'm NEVER going SOA so i dont care or want to spend the money on High Steer Conversion so thats ruled out lots of kits (like the m.o.r.e. kit ect)..

so ive been searching everywhere to find what will fit my needs and i havent found much:

I can go with stock replacement parts, but i've upgraded so much that is dumb to NOT upgrade this system too.. plus thats about $230 which gives me a good budger to work around.

There is the Rustys 4x4 kit, but i have read bad reviews about it binding on larger lifts and eating TRE's. ANYONE HAVE EXPIERENCE WITH THIS KIT??? its $240 but claims to be about 4x stronger and while im hearing "-'s" about it I might end up with it cause its the only thing i can find that nots $400+

Then I guess I could find someone to weld me up fittings onto some DOM and run 1 ton GM TRE's and connect the drag link to the Tie Rod End on the Pass knuckle like the CJ's

but i just want some more advise on what to do so let me have it.

Honestly, I would have recommended either something like the Rusty's kit or the 1-Ton GM TRE's. Realize that with the GM swap, you need a welder and a taper reamer. With the Rusty's kit, you're going to need a large drill bit. Either way, you're going to have to do a bit of modification to the kunckles. For a little less than the Rusty's Kit you could fabricate something very similar but there again, you're going to need a welder. You didn't really say what your fabrication experience was so I'd factor that into your plan.

Also, you can build a Heim joint set up with parts from Polyperformance for less than $200 before shipping.
