Pretty vague request...

Have either of you been out here before?

Downtown Denver is just like any other city, you will find anything and everything you would normally find in a city, plus a pot shop or two!

Foothills- a day trip up to Idaho Springs or Evergreen will give you a taste of the mountains. A little bit longer trips- head up to Rocky Mountain National Park in Northern CO; Garden of the Gods and other sites around CO Springs to the South.

Lots of breweries if that's your thing as well as distilleries.

Aviation- Wings over the Rockies is worth a visit. If you want to watch an awesome sunset over the mountains as well as the busiest non-commercial airport in the nation, The Perfect Landing had a really good happy hour for foods and drinks every day at Centennial Airport.

kinda sucks youre going in the winter. Ill be there in june. I went for a few days a couple years ago and everything awesome i did was outdoors. Except for one thing. If youre into heavy metal stop by this brewery:

https://www.trvebrewing.com/

Its small, but the beer is fucking awesome. They only serve the beer in onsite.

Also, buy a t-shirt while you are there. I wear mine to out to similar events and people stop me all the time and interrogate me as to whether ive actually been there or not. As in, did i just buy the shirt online or actually go inside the establishment to drink the beer.

Its the weirdest thing ever. My wife talks about it all the time. I was at the Mastadon/Primus concert last summer in Pittsburgh and no less than 4 people stopped me to talk about my shirt.

If you stepped outside and saw something cool to do right there, what would it be?
And is "something cool to do" the same thing for you and for your girlfriend, or does she have a different idea of (and if so, what) "something cool" ?

Sure, find me a boulder.
I found you a Boulder. You'll have to load and haul it, it'll take more than one trip in a 3/4 ton, and it tends to make California look conservative, so I suggest putting it near Austin. Some of us here might even help you load it if you agree to take the whole thing.

I guess OP hasn't been back to tell us what he'd like to do.

Hey, OP, whereabouts in/around Denver will you be? You will have a rental car, or no? What hours/timeframe do you need to fill? How far (distance) or time (hours) are you willing to drive to do it? What do you like to do?
