Hello everyone,

I am looking for another jeep to build, a CJ7 or wagoneer this time.

With my last CJ (1980), I never encountered a metric bolt.

Did the CJ's remain standard until the change in 1987?
Did the wagoneers remain standard to 1991?

I have a 80's suburban project now that is standard, metric, torqx, allen, phillips, etc and it drives me insane.

Thank you,
Chris

Have torn apart an '86 CJ 7 and never opened my metric drawers, so I think its safe to say that any metric issues would be previous owners faults with any CJ.

CJs were all AMC and should be all SAE (Maybe some TORX and Phillips though). Wagoneers were at a minimum AMC designed, so I would make the ASSumption that they are SAE, but I have never verified it. I would expect it on XJs and YJs though. I swear I've used a metric wrench and a SAE wrench to pull one part of a TJ.
