Nope, not hearsay. Grant has closed up shop. Here is the deal.

Grant's shop was in Albuquerque. His wife works/lives in New York. Grant was going to close up shop at the end of summer and move to New York. In June, he suffered an injury, slicing open his left palm with a sander (he was already missing his left index finger). This put him out of commission for eight weeks. With that he said fuck it and gave his remaining business to another guy.

His jigs and patterns are now with another shop. If you want a "Stout" bumper you can contact:

Steve Hinken
Hinken Specialty Fabrication
152-b Stover Road
Los Lunas, NM 87031
505/203-4639

Steve is a good guy and used to work for Grant. His shop is real small (I mean real small!, my garage is bigger) but he has all the equipment to make a solid bumper.

Man thanx! I already have the full Stout on the back. I love the bumper/rack. Thats a bummer to hear about the injury. Hopefully, he'll reconsider and open a shop in NY for us east coast boys..

All we have here is KMA in Georgia.....(AH! lets not go there,I like many have bad dreams about that place).

He just might. He has retained the "Stout" name. Give him a few years.

I talked to Steve last week and he seemed to be a very nice guy. If you are having trouble getting hold of him, he said he was leaving for 10 days to go Elk hunting.

That explains the whole thing. When I talked to Steve he said that they don't make bumpers for 2nd gen 4Runner anymore. I ordered my bumper frame mounts for my custom rear bumper from Steve. He had me make the check out to HSF. He's a very nice guy to work with. He was always calling me and updating me about the frame mounts. He even asked me to call him when I got it. Anyway the frame mounts are excellent quality. I am sure he can still make bumpers, he said he still got the jigs for it.

Ya, Grant never liked the way it bolted up so somehow the pattern for the mounts was "lost."
