Im making a new crossmember for my rear shocks....Im running chevys with a 2 inch block for about 5-6 inches of lift.... I want to run the shocks at a 45 degree angle from the outter part of the axle up to a cross member....Im running the 14" stroke procomps

my question is: how much of the shock should I extend so as to not bottem them out or max them out.....

I was thinking of having about 6 inches or the rod extended from the shock body

You need to flex your suspension out in order to get an exact idea you cant just guess and expect them to get max stuff and extention. Max the susp out and hold a shock up and see how far the shock would be compressed if positioned where you whould like them. Make sure not to bottem it out just give it a happy medium. I have some pics of a friends truck with the inboarded shocks on my web site if you want to check it out? <IMG SRC="smilies/smile.gif" border="0">
