i am currently searching local junkyards for a factory locker with no luck thus far. i cannot seem to find a way to find junkyards online, so a phone book has been my only friend in this matter.
i was hoping maybe someone could help me out with any or all of these probs. i would really like to find one of these lockers because of there full selectability. an ARB air locker would be about as expensive it would seem but i just seem to be hooked on the factory one. <IMG SRC="smilies/smile.gif" border="0">

You can't use a Tacoma locker in a Tacoma, unless you swap your entire real axle. You have a 8.4" diff and an axle housing made for it. You need the 8.0" electric locker housing that can only be found in Tacoma's with the electric locker.

Or, you could find an rear axle made for a pickup before the Tacoma, and modify that.

Or, buy the entire housing and locker from a junk yard.

Or, buy a brand new housing and locker from Jay Marks.

Or, just install an ARB. Do they make an ARB for an 8.4 diff?

The rear ARB locker for the 8.4" was just released. Should be in stock in a few days.

TAPS probably has a few of the elec. lockers and housings, but be prepare to bend over.

There was a guy in MD who had 4 of them. Didn't have any Taco axles though. Think he wanted around $800 each for them (with a housing).

they claim they are going to do IFS as well. any word on that? if i knew the 8.4" ARB was this close to coming out, i would not have installed the lock right.
