I am going to order my 38.5x14.5.15 SX pretty soon but am currious where the best place to order them from is. I am thinking about going with the MRT 8 lug beadlocks with 2.5 backspacing to clear the calipers, is that a good wheel or should i go with something else. Can you Balance Beadlocks? It is my daily driver. Yeah i know there illegal, but Fawk IT.

I just mounted my 38.50x14.50 15 SX's yesterday. I bought them at 4 Wheel Parts Wholesalers, in Sacto for $1004.00 with state and federal tax, out the door(the tires were $855).
I run MRT beadlocks with 3" backspacing, they work fine, but I have never tried to have em ballanced.

Why not support your local 4x4 shop, unless they've done you wrong. I can't help but think your gettin 38s with beadlocks for a dd & you don't know if they can be balanced? <IMG SRC="smilies/confused.gif" border="0">

Seems like big $$$$ for a DD. I would get them and have a sepperate set of cheapy moto 35's on std rims to run on the street. Doesn't take long to swap tires at home. I would call Les Schwab(sp?) on Bradshaw. They have quoted me good deals in the past and they will price match.

I got my 35/16/15 Boggers from Gallaways $WD Center in New London NC, $900.00 out the door. Hamfist ordered 2 39.5 Boggers from $ wheel Parts and 2 weeks later got nothing but excuses as to why he didn't get 'em. Oh well, chit happens huh? He got his from someplace in Akron and paid a whopping $50.00 less than Gallaways. If your east coast, Lester is a good man to deal with, he'll also pad balance for $25.00 per tire.

There are many shops out there, but I hear you can get them from America's Tire Comapny. If you can, I know you can haggle with them in some aspects. As for the balancing, I would recommend you do something. As for balancing beadlocks, not gonna happen with a 38 on there. You can however get some centramatics, and never balance a tire again. www.centramatic.com I am running the MRT, and I love them, but I do have a problem with them leaking a bit. Good luck

Dimitri,
Next time you need to remove the rings, put a little grease on both sides of the ouer bead. This will allow the bead to move around a bit and seat itself propperly when tightening the bolts. I have been running beadlocks for about 3 years and have never had a problem with leaks, using this method,(even with the thin rings of King Racing Beadlocks).
