i'm trying to check the timing and do a wee little timing advance. but, where the hell is the box where i short out the terminals? i looked by the big black box next to the battery, isn't that where it should be? in a little black box? ahhhhh <IMG SRC="smilies/confused.gif" border="0"> ??

i have an 85 efi 22re. <IMG SRC="smilies/confused.gif" border="0">

It's the little box behind the fuse box under the hood on the passenger side that says "diagnosis" on the top cover.

That's on '87 and up 22RE's. The earlier models have it on the drivers side next to the coil.

What Arnold says! It's a round conector with a rubber cap on it, 2 conductor, disables the computer so you cab set the static timing. The Crappy Haynes manuels even have it in 'em

Opps is right, get a factory Manuel, in fact i otta take his advice too!

the markings are easier to fing then the stupid connector thing!
