I have a 89 v6 and I am trying to find some nice aftermarket headers for it. I know that Downey makes some but I hear they are junk. I know edlebrock makes them for the 3.4 but I am not sure about the 3.0. Any suggestions? <IMG SRC="smilies/frown.gif" border="0">

The only companies that I know of are Downey and Northwest Offroad . Yes Downey's headers look much cheesier than N.W.O.R. but do some research between the two . NWOR has a very crappy reputation , if you do a search you will find this out . Edelbrock only makes them for the 3.4 . Unsure about the 3.0 used in camrey though . Might want to check out TRD at your local dealership

Do a search here and on the offroad.com BBS. It's gets covered at least once a week, but here's a basic summary from personaly experience on my 90 3.0. NWOR's are more expensive but seal nicely and emission fittings line up. Downey's emission fittings are a joke, you don't what those headers especially when you smog. Either is a pain to install, I wouldn't even attempt it without a body lift. Mine was hard even with a 3" body lift. You need chinaman's hands in some spots. You will notice a gain, but nothing short of a more powerful engine will ever help a 3.0.
