just installed an 92 toy axle under my 84 and some all pro spacers in the front! now im getting more lateral travel out of my axle..in other words my rear drive line is hitting my gas tank guard..what do ya think...just smash it or cut it? and the front also...hitting more of my already smashed crossmember (have a crawler). just smash more?

Sounds to me like you're getting more flex due to the extra leverage the wider axles now have against the springs. I doubt its really more lateral movement.

I think a BFH and a Sawsall are in order.

He's right, no lateral movement. It's the way the axle swings when it drops that will cause your driveline to seem like its moving sidways
