I was trying to get the specs on this winch and how good they were, and if it could be converted to 12 volt if it is worth the effort?
I would find an electric motor repair shop near you and ask if they can convert it to 12 volts. Also send an email to Wearen and ask them about converting to 12 volts.

No such thing as converting a motor from 24 to 12, buy a new 12v warn motor, contact six states distributors, the one in soldonta Alaska has a guy @Blackjack who know just about everything on winches, I used his formula to build an 8274 that pulls 8000 lbs at 75’ per minute. The standard that all winches are compared to.

If it was me, I would buy two Duracell marine batteires for $220, hook it up, and use it. Then if it worked well, then figure out the charging solution. Probably mount he batteries in the bed or under it.
