I am trying to seal up my 72 Fj40 before winter and need to find some window channel(felt) Toyota discontinued it and what I really need is to find somewhere to just buy it bulk. After all it is only three straight pieces no molding needed. Thanks

have you looked into window foam it comes in various thicknesses and widths you just peel the back off and it sticks. used it on the rear window/hatch on my 70 fj40.
you can find it at almost any hardware store

Go to any auto glass company and ask to see their Sommer and Maca catalog.....they have what you need and not too $$$. They ship fast!
Here is a link but no pics.......

//www.somaca.com/SearchResults.asp?SearchString=window+channel

Another good source is the CRL (CR laurence co.) All auto glass shops have these catalogs ..they are the bibles in the auto glass biz.You will have to purchase thru the shop though, but they will have it at alot cheaper price than specter.

JC Whitney carries lots of channel rubber. I cut a small piece from my FJ55 and compared it with the profile pics in their catalog, then ordered samples from 2 that looked close. When they arrived (about 2 weeks as I remember) I put the samples in the metal channel and rolled the window up to see which one didn’t bind, etc. One was a better fit than the other, so I ordered several rolls of the stuff. Sorry but I’m at work right now and can’t remember what the part number is that I ended up goin’ with.

Hope that helps!

I got mine at Specter and it wasn't that much. If their price is too high for your liking just ask them what company makes the felt they use and get it from them direct or at least you have a company name and size to give to a glass shop.

J.C. Whitney is the cheap way to go. Just compare to the picture in the catalog. I did it a few years back and it worked great. Just trim to fit. I think it was less than $25 for a roll of the stuff that did both doors with a couple feet to spare. I also bought the window channel from them and it works great too.
