Now that it's almost summer and the rain should be letting up a bit, I'm going to swap out my shattered to shit 37 year old windshield on my 1983 F-250. Guy at the glass shop asked me if I wanted to order a plain glass windshield or one with a shade band at the top. (that's the factory blue tint that's just a few inches at the top of the windshield)

Can anyone who has one of these tell me how thick the band is so I can tell if it's gonna piss me off or not? I haven't had functional visors in years and I think it would be nice, but my new-to-me bench seat sits up a lot higher and I want to make sure it's not going to be too close to my normal plane of vision. Once it's in I can't exactly remove it, so it would be nice to know. Thanks in advance.

I've never had any disdain for the shade strip at the top of the windshields.
I think the aftermarket one is only going to be ~3", and I feel like the factory ones are more.
I don't think you'll hate it.
