Never seen it on an mtr but I did have that happen on 4 cheapo tires on the escort I owned. Slowly but surely each one failed in the same way and almost the same spot leading me to believe they were bad all along. On mine a belt (I guess) had pulled causing a bulge and the bead deformation. (like if you cut one for your tendons, your arm would bulge) How old are the mtrs? And, were they ever heated up excessively? Trailer tires like to fail in all sorts of ways if you run them underinflated and overloaded for any length of time.

The TSL's just didn't like being on that Nissan, wanted to be put out of service for good :flipoff2:

Have you had to drive anywhere with low tire pressure or at high speeds? Heat kills tires... seems strange though, maybe it's just a factory defect. Best bet would be to take it to a tire store where they know more, get them to take it off and inspect it...

Buy your swampers from 4 wheel parts wholesalers and get the extreme warranty, just a few bucks, and all you got to do is send them a photo of your F-ed up tire and they'll send you a new one. Well, thats what they told me when I bought my TSL SX's

that one tire looks like it has a tumor!! You can get MTR's in Chico from Americas Tire Co. and they take less than 2 weeks to get. MTR's are still readily available here, but i'm sure that in other states, the availability may take longer.

Had that happen to 3 Kirkland signature tires on my dad's camper. All were warrentied, but we just eventually took them off because it was a pain constantly watching them for bubbles.

At work, a truck came back from Amchitka Island with both front tires bubbled...All the way around, right down the center of the tread! Guess BFG MT's aren't the greatest on a truck used to it's full weight carrying capacity on gravel roads for 8 months solid :(

I bet if you break that tire/wheel down there will be damage to the bead area that cause the bead to fail, OR you severly pinched the area @ speed between ground/wheel.

Yep, but mine was because of the way the idiots took the tires off the rims when I was taking them to be bead-locked, they damaged the beads and they denied they did it. Took them over to Americas Tire and they warranted them for me. One blew off the rim when I was trying to seat it, had about 50 psi when it let loose and I had a hard time hearing for a couple of days!!! :grinpimp:
