Tell him to take the abs out and throw it in the trash. I have had mine dissabled for many miles and the only difference is when I go offroading the brakes work better. Abs is for yuppies that speed on the highways, if he goes sas, he will be riding in a tall big tired rig that shouldn't be speeding in the rain.
It might be possible to find a d44 equiped vehicle with abs, or some brake system that will fit a d44, and just splice the Nissan wires to the new ones at the hubs.
