just curious, but why would any be reused??

Wouldn't you use a standalone system for the engine.
I would think so. I just removed the unnecessary junk when I yanked my I4 and left the wires that had nothing to do with the engine (lights, etc) and made my own harness for the engine I put in which is stand alone.

Screw cut and paste when it comes to engine management:flipoff2:

what wires need to be reused from the ecu?
All of them.

If they come out of the ecu, they have a purpose. Anything coming out of the ECU is independent of the ecu and has nothing to do with the vehicle it's in. Basically speaking....you need them all.

With that cleared up, There are about 10 wires that go into the bulkhead that need to be addressed. Check out my other posts...as I documented what they are.....assuming you are using a TBI unit. Vortec is similar, but not exact.

Where are your other post?
I have the FSM for my 89 YJ. The electronic ignition control unit is what im asking about. Some of the colors in the manual for wires are different than the ones under the hood. I am running the stock guages.
