How do you seal the tool box doors?
I put a 1/8" X 1" strip inside of each tool box and will put a sticky back pad on it for the door to shut up against. In the ******* trailer supply book there is all kind's of seal's you can buy, I'll try this first and if it does not work to well I'll order in something different and keep trying until we find one that work's the way we want it to.

Price on a set of those running boards for a Mega cab shipped to a business in 21157 or picked up ?
Raw metal finish, Dimple dies up for traction if they arent already, hard to tell.
there you go Mike, make two sets. One for you and one to go to the east coast :smokin:

The response to the running board's as been great. We are going to start turning them out. If you have interest in them please send me a PM. (tell me if you want them as long as the cab, alittle longer, all the way to the rear tire) It will be a week or two to get all set up to turn them out faster. A couple of us made part's for them all day today so I could get some sent out from were I posted them on the Dodge truck fourm here on Pirate. Please bare (sp) with us while we get these set up and ready to go. But please send me a PM with your shipping info and a number I can contact you at and What kind of Dodge it is, 1/2 ton, 3/4 ton, 1 ton and if it is a super cab, 4 door or a mega cab. We will be looking at the Chevy and Ford's also but not for awhile. Thanks.

As for the bed looking cheap, remember we will build it the way you (The Customer) want's it, this is going on my personal truck and it is the way I wanted it, but thank's for your input, alway's a better way to do thing's.

Try Door seals. If you put a 3/4"-1" lip, about a 1/4" in from the back of the door, you can buy bulk door seals from a boat shop, comes on a roll. It collapses and conforms when you close it, and has metal in it to pinch the lip.

Kind of like this Pook

We've also gone to junkyards and snagged a couple door seals/rear hatch seals to do it.

Got some thing's done today, drilled and tapped the door's and box for the hinges and got a latch or two installed. Going to try and know this thing out friday. Here are a few pic's, made some running board's for a customer today also, think I am going to build a set for mine next, took some pic's of them before I sent them off to be powdercoated today.
Just judging by the pictures, it looks like one little round detail was forgotten.

Hopefully that was squared away before you sent it off.

try www.allegiscorp.com for all latches, hinges, tailgate systems, and all profiles of weatherstripping, they have some very high quality stuff, i've done 2 beds, ordered all of my stuff from there. looks good, only suggestion is using 1/8" formed channels for your crossmembers to reduce the weight, and attaching the g.n. hitch to the 2 long rails instead, i'll try to find some pics of my 2 beds....i'm lovin those running boards!

built the dually bed 3 years ago, i work out of it every day, only problem ive had is the weatherstripping wearing out, and need drains in the tool boxes, it weighed about 1000lbs before the extra toolboxes, air comp., etc...any way you can reduce weight i would try it! It seems that the shape of the bed improves the fuel mileage over our regular flat/utility beds on our other dodge duallys, like 2-3 mpg better! Your bed looks great!

hate to clog up your thread, but i like sharing ideas, there's not many flatbeds out there that actually look good, i check the aws.org forums sometimes for ideas and pictures, and if you're gonna use work lights on it, i suggest the hella dual beam flood 55w oval like i have, they are awesome!
