Some of you might remember some issues I had with a motor from Davez a while back. Well I got a replacement motor and lo and behold - that one worked and I didn't do anything differently than the first motor, despite some people's opinions that I shouldn't be allowed near a wrench or whatever. I never even got a chance to say that in the 'bad sellers' forum post because Camo locked it on Davez word alone.
I had left this all alone since then because I was wheeling and cutting firewood and enjoying life, not focusing on shitty things from the past. Well I can't hold my tongue any longer and if I do nobody will care anyway (hell, you might not to begin with)
Well the replacement motor started leaking oil from the oil pan gasket and half-moon gasket on the front of the valve cover with just a couple of hundred miles on it. This is pretty sad.
The engine now has 958 miles on it since installation and is getting covered in oil from the leaks. This sure is a professional job.
"Let the buyer beware"
I'd also like to say thanks for those that had a level head in the original thread, and a hearty 'fuck off' to those that were swinging from a ballsack without any clue of what was going on :flipoff2:
Now I'm just waiting to see how some of you guys try to blame this on me like last time.
What, should I have replaced all the gaskets in this motor and retorqued all the bolts before I installed it? Shouldn't a newly rebuilt motor at least be able to hold the fluids it requires in order to operate? Now I get to go back through and do the job myself because it wasn't done properly the first time. :shaking:
There were other things wrong with this motor when I got it but they were minor (bolts missing, not torqued, etc) and I just wanted to get it installed rather than waste my time arguing on the internet about it.
Thanks for reading
