I acquired a '96 Dodge 2500 Dana 60 front axle.
it have the CAD, low pinion, unit bearings, ball joints...
I am thinking about use the outer off it to build a hybrid steering axle.
I am not sure if its worth my time to modify them to make a stout axle. even it will be a fun project for me.
I am thinking about either GM14Bolt or dana 70 or a ford 9" (unlikely on the Ford 9" as the third member cost lot of $) rear to make it a steering axle front.
the advantage of running the Dodge Dana 60 outer from the '94-'00 trucks that their steering knuckles' arms are already plently high to start with (no modding for high steer arm, which is nice) and the unit bearings are not necessary to be bad thing as they do work and probably easier to work on as its just a one piece unit thats just need to get 4 bolts off then its off to swap axle shafts or soso, without getting any grease on the hand :flipoff2
good quote I get from another thread, this pretty much show what i mean about the advantage of running these outers
any thoughts? TIA!

If I ever gonna to build it I will want to try to buy the RCV axle shafts to go in it when I am done putting it together.
any thoughts? TIA!
