Well, i ordered a PSC cylinder assist kit with reservior and cooler.

i have it all hooked up and it seems to be working fine but when i got to installing the resi i realized i must be missing some parts....the resi has two fittings.

one on the side which is a #6 and a bottom one which is a #10...apparently i was missing a piece of #10 hose and those two quick fittings. I called the guys at PSC who are usually very helpful, and i must just not know what im talkinga bout but they said that i must use that big ass #10 hose as my return line to the resi.

doesnt make since because none of my hoses on my steering are that damn big, so why do i need it now?

basically im jsut having hell figuing out which line is which and how to splice in my resi. I have hydroboost as well if that helps.

-10 on the bottom to the pump - it's that large as their high output pump will starve if it isn't that big and directly over the pump.

-6 from the pump to your hydro boost - then to your steering gear and back to the other -6 on your reservoir.

Hydro boost is very sensitive to the return port and will suck up flow from the pump possibly to the point where it will affect your steering.

I would suggest running a T in your high pressure line - one hose to your hydro boost and the other to your steering. Give each system it's own dedicated return and it should work flawlessly.

Feed the reservoir to your pump - adapt that large hose to your inlet, possibly where your cap would be. Their reservoirs are designed for their bread and butter systems - full hydro and high output pumps.

Hmmm, maybe, and I'm just guessing here, but just maybe, they know more about it than you do, so you should do what they say.

If you go against their advice, which is certainly an option, then at that point, you become the designer, and pretty much let them off the hook, if it doesn't work as expected.

Also, I'm willing to bet that you are mis-stating what they told you, because the port on the bottom of the reservoir, should be the suction line, not the return. As a rule, suction lines are a larger OD for the reasons stated, on just about any hydraulic system.
