Thought I would share the changed wheel carrier.
It ended up about 1" higher at bottom, 1.5" closer & the hoop is around 3" lower.

Not as big as the Krawler in width.

Justin dropped some goodies off to Dave so he brought them down with him.
Thought I had better add a bit of B.R.U. :D

Spent the last couple days down at Brooksys and we got all the roll cage chassis tie ins done. As usaul with Brooks work, they all turned out great. We also tied in the rear tube flares, so they are very solidly mounted now.

The bushes we used were from Poly Performance

And all the tabs are from Ballastic Fabrications, which Brooksy is the Australian dealer for now. For the A and C pillars, 3mm fish plates were welded to the chassis before welding the tabs on.

Some pics.

Got the padding fitted now. Hope to get the final inspection and blue plate fitted in the coming weeks.

All going well I'll bring it home before the end of Jan to start getting some of it painted.

OK WTF is going on in that shed ? I see all the barwork being done in the doorway and outside on the dirt which is what I expect as Brooksy needs a good clean and some customers to get their shait out and then this year ... it almost looks like your 40 series made it in the shed .. surely not ???

Next you will be telling me Brooksy has started work on his 40 ?? :shaking:

LOL!

Brooksys shed is actually looking pretty good at the moment. Very organised, and a lot of un-needed junk from previous builds is gone. My 40 and Kurts lux should be gone within a few weeks all going well. That coiled converted 40 chassis is now out in the elemets since old mate has never came and picked it up. So shouldnt be too long and Brooksy will have a fresh empty shed to get his 40 build underway (finally)

Am heading out to LCMP this weekend and with the constant rain the Sunshine Coast has been getting all year, I had to sort a top out for the 40. A mate used to do trimming for a living, and has a machine at home, so he knocked this up for me yesterday. Am stoked with how it turned out.

Have also added a leaf to the rear pack, which has reduced the bodyroll a bit, but didnt lift up the saggy arse as much as I hoped. Might have to get dobinsons to do something up properly for me.

Also had brooksy has some sheet to the tailgate.

Well had a good weekend out at LCMP.

Trip out friday sucked a bit, got all the way to the entrance of Sunday Creek Rd (bout 40km from LCMP) only to get a road closed sign. Rang the rangers office to see if Mt Buggery was open, and they said it was also closed (found out later it wasnt) so we had to do a 150km detour via Kilcoy, pain in the arse!

Got to camp and was setup around 3ish, then we went to go do some tracks. As plenty of other people have mentioned on the forums, it is crazy how much the place has changed with the floods. Went to do claw gorge and test track but both these are impassable so we went and did Cruiser Canyon. Its changed a heap, with lots of nice lines to take now.

Was myself in my 40, Aaron in a new cruiser ute on 35" creepies and Val in a std. crusier ute on 33s. Was easy enough for 3/4 of it, but for 100m or so around the ledge section its nuts. We got the 40 through with lots of rock packing and guys on a strap on the front. But the utes wouldn't have got through without panel damage so they turned around. I love having the tube fenders/flares/sliders now, lots of rubbing on them, but no damage.

It was about 8pm now after getting out of Cruiser Canyon, and I couldn't go the normal easy way back to camp due to massive erosion gullys. Had to go up Rav Ridge then around through the Rain Forest Section to get back to camp. Was a bit average at times as we had no map, no torch, and were by ourselves, so wasnt keen on getting stuck. All worked out ok in the end but.

Some pics.

Surprising how much still fits in with the top gone and rear seat fitted.
