Very cool weekend at Primm! We qualified 26th on Friday about 30 seconds out of the pole. On Saturday, the little talent I had ran out at the end of lap four when I flopped at 5 mph right before the start / finish. This cost us about 4 minutes which was the difference between 7th and 12th. Even with the flop we had the identical time of the other Dunn Tech Truggy #123.

Sunday's start had us right behind the leaders from day 1 as SNORE inverted the top 10 in the start order. We were also in front of some heavy hitters who either DNF'd or had trouble like Johnny Greaves and TJ Flores. No problems on the day and we ended up 9th for the weekend.:)

The highlight was hitting the dike jump 10 times. This picture doesn't serve it justice; I'll try to post a video later.:grinpimp:

you guys looked great last weekend! i think i have a few vids of you hammerin the dikes
Thanks!!!!:)

Here is my first attempt at a video with the rear GoPro. This is from Saturday with a couple of shots from the Dike jump, 108 on pit row, getting nerfed by TJ Flores the class champ and the flop.:homer:

I thought a little Aerosmith helps set the stage :grinpimp: :

the gopro footage was cool. did the flop just undo itself?
The flop was undone by a 3/4 ton pickup with a strap. I just cut the video in the editing room. It was painful enough the fist time waiting and waiting, I didn't want to suffer through it again.:D:laughing:

now that youve got some seat time in the truggy
- likes
- dislikes
- things youd change
- Love no CVs to mess with or break. I like the suspension, especially in the rough sections of Barstow and Lucerne. The car is fairly lite for an unlimited car (under 4K) and floats nicely at speed. Pump gas is nice. The powerglide is is user friendly and only 2 speeds makes it idiot proof. We really pushed the tranny at BAP with so many 90 degree turns, the soft sand and reving it hard from 1st to 2nd most of the day. No temps over 250.:smokin:

- I don't really have any dislikes. Anything that was an issue we changed. The bright orange paint on the hood and dash would create a funky glow in the sun, so we came up with the black to reduce the glare. New rear axle housing solved the cracks we were having to repair each race. We ditched the BFG Projects for the Goodyears which really hook up well. And we added a third tranny cooler to keep the temps down.

- The only things we have talked about changing are going to a stroker kit to bump the motor up to a 427. BAP was a sprint and 100 more hp would be nice.:D I would like to see how the car would handle a 37" tire but then again we are talking more weight and stress on the components.

Overall we are very happy with the truggy. :)

Wayne promised to join us at the next race in May (MORE Royal Purple 500). We should have both cars ready for that race. :cool2:

Wyatt, the drivers meeting is at 6pm on Freemont. We should be there in the late afternoon to tech & contingency and to push the truggy along. I'll have a beverage waiting for you.:grinpimp:

Here is my very abridged race report from the Mint. :p

We decided it wasn't worth beating on the car in qualifying so we started near the rear of the 43 combined TT/C1 field on Saturday morning.

Around race mile 4, in the sand wash / silt section at about 70 mph Earl got hit by softball sized rock on his helmet, just above his visor that momentarily knocked him out. He came to quickly and the car stayed upright. Just on the other side of the freeway, we hit a fairly long straight and were over 100 mph in the dust of another 1 car. Concentrating more on the dust than the gps, I was late calling out a 90 left turn. Straight ahead was an rail road embankment and a 4' X 6' block wall. Carrying too much speed to make the turn, Earl narrowly missed the wall, jumped the tracks at 90 mph, but we skimmed the other block wall on the other side of the tracks. The impact caused one of the wheels to break and the loss of a brake rotor. A quick change of the wheel and we were back on the road but 7 miles later the driveline and 3rd member let go (probably related to the RR jump).

Race started for us at 7:20 am and was over by 8:00.:(
