Okay I have found a front Dana 60 with a driverside diff and high pinion I think??? but it has dually flanges on it.

When I checked the http://www2.dana.com/expert/wc.dll?DSD~deabill~2~ site it lists it as a FORD Model 60 FRONT 1986 - 1988 F-350 MONOBEAM DRW. AXLE PIC Does anyone know more about this type of axle??? I know it is a reverse rotation and it's still a 35 spline inners with 30 spline outers

Here is the dually flange pic#1 pic#2 and I am curious who machines this to accept a standard wheel and/or what do I have to do to use it.

He wants $700 each for the 3 axles he has which I think is a good price and I want to make sure that they are able to be used. He had a SM465/205 sitting beside the other dana 60's which is why I think they are Chevy Dana 60 front and rear but I just want to make sure because I can't find a BOM on them.

Is it only Dodge that uses these HUBS
and how can I tell if this is a Dodge or Chevy if I can't find the BOM # dodge or Chevy???

the first pic you show looks to me like a spring under low pinion pass side diff axle. i say that because it looks like the tie rod is in the correct place for a 60 unless its some kind of factory high steer. it also has no visible bleeder screw from that side, so i would think the bleeder is on the other side and since they aim up, i would think the axle is being viewed from the bottom.

the second pic looks like any other external drive hub setup except for the dually wheel bearing hubs. you should be able to just swap those out for any dodge or GM single wheel version internal or external drive single wheel hubs.

the 3rd pic looks like a GM dana 60 cause of the shock mounts.

i could be wrong in a few spots here but you need some pics that show the whole axle and maybe which way the springeyes are pointing also. which way does the axle breather tube hole face on the first pic?

You could probably take the hubs to any machine shop and have it machined to convert the DRW hub into a SRW hub.

About 1/2 way down Billavista's article there is a section called "Converting DRW hubs to SRW hubs:" He details the process there.

The easiest way (for me) to distinguish a Dodge D60 from a Chevy D60 is the shock mounts. However, the bottom 60 in those pics has a factory steering stabilizer, I believe that means that it is a Chevy axle.

No, that is a view from the top of a Ford, driver's side drop, Dana 60. The factory steering on that axle would be an inverted "T" set-up. Scroll all of the way to the right and you can see the drag link hanging from the tie rod. It's not a hi steer, the tie-rod is still under the springs.

Look at the u-bolt plates too. They double as the front lower shock mounts.

Exactly...the breather hole is on the left of the diff near the spring on the left. I know it is a Ford diff but I have never seen the selectro hubs before on an OEM axle so they are not something I have seen before I have only seen them on Rockwells in the past. I am going to be using the Ford axle in my 01 Dodge but I have read how to machine down the hubs but can I take SRW hubs and use them in place of the DRW hubs???

The bottom axle is either a chevy or Dodge and it is mounted spring over axle if that helps with a passenger side diff.

Another question is the taper on the TRE's on the Ford axle the same as on the Chevy I would like to make a better "T" setup using 1.5 inch tubing... or will they need to be reamed out...???

Correct. You can also tell its right side up by the king pin cover.
