Hey all,

Im a newbie, both to this board and four wheeling in general. I just bought an 89 Comanche. Ive had it out in the dirt once so far. Not hard core, but more than I have done before, and had an absolute blast. :D

Dawn, lets see the pic, you and the jeep, did you get the optional 4 door comanche, like this one :D

I havent got a pic yet.....I'll try to get one soon. I want to take a picture what it looks like now, before the modifications.:D

Its not a four door. Its a long bed, 4.0 automatic. The guy I bought if from said it had a 3 inch lift....but it doesnt really look lifted much. My BF says maybe two inches. I wanted a manual, but I just love this truck, and have been told that an automatic might be better to learn about four wheeling anyway. One less thing to worry about.

sup all, I'm tired of the little JU guys saying that no mods equal more fun and that you can go same places. BULLSHIT!:flipoff2: driver does count for alot but I've never seen a stock jeep do the hammers or white knuckle. nothing against stock jeeps but if someone ask about chrome anything I'm start shotting people.

Ok, I'm newbie so flame away!!!!! I have a 78 Cj5 death trap that i thrash the @#$% out of and a 78 cherokee that i want to put more lift on. I am currently running 31's on the cherokee but i want it to be the correct way so all help will be appreciated.

Hey Brent,

Is it my imagination, or are you actually creating that four door out of a cherokee? How long have you been working on it?

Dawn

Doh! I just saw your thread on the main page. It looks awsome!!!

Hmmm......can't say as I blame you there. Did you at least make up for it the second half of the day?

Maybe she's just looking forward to being able to drive it when it's done, or maybe she figures one big project a year is ok. At least she knows where your at.:D

she didn't seem to care that I was working on the thing, in the past it has been a sore spot, but since our last trip to moab, she drove most of the trip and loved it, and she hasn't been bustin my chops about working on the jeep,

she did break an axle and sink it in the mud. maybe a little guilty feeling

did i make up for it, yea, she got what she wanted :D

Just signed up figured I would drop a note here as it looks like I will get flamed if I post any where else first. Looks like a lot of good info. Will stay ghost until I get a feel for the board.

new to this list at least

okay here I am I run a XJ cherokee 33 TSL's and minimal lift (5.5" maybe) you say the limitation is the stock axles? You are right. they lasted me about 3 hours when I finally really got on them with the 33's. Now I am in the 60/60 swap phase and making the move to 36-38's. my jeep is ugly but then again it dragged my dads ass around for 180,000 miles and mine for about 45K in college. I have been looking for a list exactly like this for a long time, finally hardcore knowledge and sometimes people even share it with you.

My skin is getting thicker as we speak and my flame suit was ordered from simpson last week.

Have a good one guys

Justin

yeah but I can't complain, the unibody is a pain to work with but I do love the 101" wheel base and the fact that in the rain I can stay nice and toasty warm. I love seeing these things come along in their evolutionary trail to the quite formitable off-roaders that they are becoming now.

Happy trails!

Well I have been a lurker for the most part on NAXJA, here and JU. Although the expertise here far surpasses JU it seems the Cherokee forum has more to offer for XJs. Cause if you post a question here that doesnt require a plasma torch you get :mad3: and :nuke: . As for the name all you fawkers can attack me all you want I figure you will(Not too many XJs lifted for offroading) :flipoff2: :flipoff2: :flipoff2:
93 XJ 6.5 " lift SYE yadda yadda yadda and if you wanna get personal your mom sitting to my right
:skull: :flipoff2: :skull:
Cheers
