First off, I would like to say that I had a blast doing this. So, my dnf for quailifying. I was pretty nervous running for my first time out there. I was moving a lot faster than in practice and was thinking to much. I nailed a rock pretty good with the drivers front tire running up the wash. I noticed that I had a problem when we tried to make the right hand turn around the top of the waterfall. It wasn't turning very sharp to the right. I think the sector shaft was twisted by now. Heading up the hill to the red bull arch, It was pulling pretty good to the left, I think my tire was going flat, and I hit another rock with the drivers front. When I got up to the arch, I had no steering and we pulled off the course so we wouldn't be in the way of the other cars trying to qualify. When we got out to look at it, the sector shaft was twisted off and the pitman arm was just attached to the draglink and the front left tire was flat. I had a spare sector shaft in the back and we fixed it right there and put the spare tire on and then drove off the course. That put me 20th off the line for the main race out of 38.

So pics for now. Windshield was only in for the drive back home to try and keep things from getting to wet from the rain. I'll recap the main race later.

The sand getting thrown from the front tires really sandblasted all the paint off the rear diff, and then the rain coming home sure rusted it quick.

Hole in rear axle welded up and I made a skid for it. Clamped around the pinion, and wraps underneath to the diff cover. This is only to get me through a couple of races till my seventy9 housing comes in. Third member came in though. I'll be racing NorCal at Prairie City on April 5th.

I'll see you there :smokin:

I've been follow one of the other racers from KOH that builds his own rig and he swears by the AR400 plate. He bought some for his belly pan and has used pieces else where too. He said post KOH that the new belly pan did not have a scratch in it. The rest of rig looks like a walnut :homer:
