I was under the impression that Warn wouldn't warranty an axle that had a CTM. Is the same true for the superiors and Yukons?
I think I heard that Warns are very hard and somewhat brittle??? Does anyone konw if you can run any of the alloy shafts inner and outer without needed to convert to manual hubs on the rev dana 30?

ok i will let the cat out of the bag. We ( PBB ) are in the proccess of obtaining a set of 60 axles from every manufacture and have built a hydro test machine that will record data as we twist them untill failure. look for the ultimite 60 shaft test comming soon. ( next 60 days )

yes we will be testing them with the inner axle , ujoint and stub in various turning angles from straight to full lock

Yes, Rock Runner Racing broke 3 at our Beatty event

let's quantify that though...they broke the replaceable yokes that slide over the end of the axle, not the axle shaft itself. AND, considering they were full-throttle with rear wheels turned to lock in an amazing place...WOW, I was shoked those yokes lasted as long as they did. Want a stronger CTM axle, ante up for the one-piece billet ones... :eek:...I don't even have the $ to go there right now so I have the yoke-style. Even then, those are AMAZING in strength to handle my bashing as well as they do. Unbreakable, no...strong as hell, yes.

Superiors,Yukon, and Alloy USA are alloy and don't need the manual hubs. Direct replacements, made for full circle clips.

Thanks the Warns do though right? I know they sell those manual hubs anyways so why not make running their alloys mandatory to run them with the hub conversion on the dana 30. :rolleyes:

Camo are you getting a set from ouverson to test?
I never heard of them. Is there a good warranty on them? Does this include a good quality u-joint for $1K?

The axles that dutchman sells........
Import = Yukon

Domestic = Superior
Superior = Neapco, or is it Neapco = superior?
Look and see, need adobe reader.
Neapco catalog

they warranty against craftsmanship defects and freak material imperfections.
Forgot to mention mine are D60 shafts and its $1k for just the shafts

So what manufacturers warranty their stuff for 2 or more years against breakage from intented usage like rock crawling or stuff you would actually buy the alloy for in the 1st place??? They should all cover defects on their end anyways, anyone should do that. If you sell a defect then the buyer should be able to return it no questions asked.

well i just tore down my 60 yesterday and after running the superiors and ctm's for 4 months they have no twisting at the splines. in the 4 months prior to running the superiors and ctms. i broke short side inners at the splines and a u-joint that cleaned the ears off of both inner and outer shafts. the long side shafts never broke but i twisted 2 of these pretty badly during the same time frame. needless to say since the superiors have no twisting at all i am VERY pleased.

I'm curious about the Moser Max axles, but I think everyone got scared off by the old moser shafts
I too ran the Mosers behind a 380hp LS1 all year (Rock Race series). There is no play at the ears and the splines are still straight. If you see the video you would never believe that any axle would hold up.

Also i have heard it said that there are a couple of outfits working on some different approaches for strengthening the outer stubs from increasing spline counts and shaft diameter and making custom hubs? anyone with some info on this?
I remember hearing about Drivetrain direct selling these and Alloy USA is releasing these in January.

I couldn't find this info in any old posts :confused:

How do D44 front 4340 shafts compare?

seems like:

Yukon's = the cheapest, and made in India

Alloy USA = a new company, more $ than Yukon, better quality? Made in USA?

Superior = high quality, made in USA, and most expensive

I understand where the Yukons fit in, so any comments on Superior vs Alloy USA's?
I'm only be using regular 760 Spicers with these.
Thx
