What throttle cable is anyone using for a JEEP (CJ) with a 350?

I am curious to what people are using for throttle cables in their Jeeps running chevy 350s? I am using a stock Jeep cable in my scrambler. I would like a shorter cable to properly open my butterflys on my fuel injection. Presently, my cable has to have a "half loop" in it because it is about 8 inches to long.I know about Lokar..Just trying to stay with something I can pick up at local parts store. thanx

This might sound kind of peculiar but it works great. I picked up a bicycle brake cable at a bicycle shop for next to nothing - (maybe about $2.00) After about six months I decided that this was too good to be true so I bought a spare. After two years I still have the spare.

I use the universal throttle cable from Auto Zone. It was around $25 and is in the chrome isle. It works great.

I'm using a cable from a stock Chev truck ('89 Suburban). I had to trim the sides of the plastic retainer clip down to fit in the YJ tub, but it works pretty slick.

I second Chato. I've been using a brake cable on mine for about a year with no problems. I have a pretty unique throttle linkage set-up so I was able to use the brake cable and cut it to the exact length.

I finally got sick of wearing out the pos universal throttle cables and stole a brake cable off of my bike, it works beautifully, and is even easier to route due to flexibility.

Might try using a stock cable from a 76-80 V8 CJ. They are quite a bit shorter than the stock cables that came in the 6 cylinder powered CJs.

Not a 350 - went 4.3 TBI, but I used the throttle cable off of a chevy pickup, a little long but works fine. Too many options in the bone yard to have to go high $$$$ after market.

I used Lokar, high quality, easy install, and the non-steal braided was like $30 at the local speed shop.:grinpimp:
