Tin Bender Pat has swapped all toyota running gear under his CJ, and it seems to work GREAT !!!!

They really are all the same when they bodies come off.....

Everyday I am amazed by the different setups I see, Personally I have 3 Toyotas, 3 Jeeps, 1 Dodge, & 2 Fords, don't have a Chevy vehicle but 3 Chevy engines mixed in there. Its' one of the perks of being in the business:p . But when the sheet metal comes off they all are the same.....

I saw a CJ5 tub on a SWB Toy frame Tuesday night at the grocery store.

Asked the driver if those were Toyota axles under there. Brainless ditz wasn't even sure where she put her purse.

After she went inside, I saw a complete 1stgen truck engine/frame/suspension under a Jeep tub. Looked pretty clean. :smokin:

The devoted Jeep guys will make fun of you for Toy axles. The devoted Toy guys will make fun of you for a Jeep body. The hardcore wheelers should be impressed. :D

the problem in swapping from 6 lug to 5 lug is teh front brake rotors. they are two versions - one is the rotor is bolt to the hub with 6 bolts, the other is the wheel stud is pressed through the rotor and into the hub body. so basically its very difficult to change that. but on the rear axle you can find the rare 5 lug, 30 spline 8" diff axles from certain 2wd's. only down fall there is they are 5 on 4.5....

Theres tons of info in the toyota FAQ....

Basically its just easier to swap rims....
