im building a 1.3 with swift 8 v head higher compression and hawk phase 2 cam which is a mid to high range cam. How well will this set up work.

I really didn't have any installation problems with the Myfi and it looks alot cleaner than standard carb set up. Gives you a lot of room to cook food on the manifold also. I did have issues with the used injectors, got a set of new ones and no problems however when I went to the hammers in April I had heat issues with it and it would die at times. If I let it sit for a while it would run fine until the fuel pump would make noise and cut out again. I installed hood louvers from Dave sport .com and that seemed to help.
Hmm, just a fuel pump issue? I ran the fuel system just like VW did on the CIS equipped vehicles. A low pressure pump to header tank to high pressure bosch pump to manifold to header tank to fuel return. Worked like a champ except the one time I blew a fuse while messing around with the wiring. The CIS likes a fair amount of pressure and volume.

I fought with the MY-SIDE for about five months before I ordered a Weber. Nothing seemed to get it right... took a long time to start up, then couldn't move until it was warmed up... and then had no power. Finally thought I had it resolved and the carb started spewing fuel everywhere. Ordered a Weber the next day and within two days of installing the Weber I was on the trails for the first time in five months.

That said, I believe Myron sold 60+ other kits and no one else had a complaint. Maybe I'm just a fucking retard... but I think I had a bad carb. Kit was a great idea, I just can't trust it after having so much trouble. It's in a box waiting to be shipped back.

From what I have heard he has the wrong jets in his carbs. Just here say mind you.

I had from 160 to 195 main jets and 44 - 48 idle jets... and it was the same thing every time. I may be picking up an electric fuel pump this weekend... I'm tempted to try it with the electric pump to see if it'll make a difference.
I went through the carb at least nine times in the whole process. Had it down to 24 minutes for removal, disassembly, reassembly, and install.

rotozuk, can you possibly expand a little on this? what size jets should be used on his 40mm keihin sidedraft? i am still trying to regain top end on mine through re-jetting and not having much luck so far. main jets have been 190-210 with little to no difference on top end.

sound like jets are not your problem... possibly wrong float level or stuck fuel inlet..

Sorry, can't help you on that.. I'm repeating some things I heard from others running the Petroworks system. Theirs is different as it uses a heavily machined intake manifold (straight through), pressure regulator and re-jetted carb. Sounds like that other kit was not ready for the market, I'd talk to the seller as he should be the best source of info for your application.

Blue_Zuki... what fuel pressure are you running? Try bumping it up half a pound and see if that helps on the top end.

Where do you feel the power flattening out? What cam are you running? What exhaust size?

installed samuraiguys four carb set up saturday fairly easy to install took it through the creek in my yard and climbed a few trees [my trees] all seems to be working very well headed up the hill 8000 ft in elevation stood her on its nose a few times and stuck it in the air to near going over no roll overs today just wasnt up to it today i couldnt stall or flood these carbs im a happy camper since i got rid of that webber flexedout is the real deal im happy with purchase thanks

ive been waiting for some feed back on the set up you have. its good to hear some one running it and likes it. ive been at a huge toss up between this set up or propane. the cost is simmilar but staying with gas would be alot easier to set up. not to mention gas is easy to find whereas propane is alittle harder to come by

i know running a dual carb set up on a vw you need to tune the carbs just right to get it to run really well. What about these are the set up perfect out of the box or am i going to have to adjust these perfectly and to get it to run well???

not the same as vw ... once these babies are set they should be good for 15,000 miles... dual carb v-dub setups have a long crossbar that complicates the sync...I SET ALL OF THEM UP AND RUN ALL BEFORE I SHIP THEM...easy--jeremy
