Yes, I know Hollister Hills is amazing! Cow Mountain is the bomb! and Prairie City is lame...
BUT
What OHV area has the BEST team???

Just a thought?!?

What if each OHV area in NOR CAL hosted thier own event, maybe three classes and the winners(team) would all compete against each other in an event at an OHV Park that was choosen by Poll???
entry fee?
prizes?
awards?
annualy?

Bragging rights!!!

Just FUN!!!:D

Since the events are hosted at established OHV areas... Does that mean we would have to have seperate insurance or does the Park cover it...
My thought is that the Parks insurance would be sufficient...

Kind of thinking out loud but what if a single obsticle was chosen from each park, say tank trap or mini-rubicon from Hollister and something else from the other parks and the contestans would run each of those? If we keep it informal then we wouldn't need to have the park closed down just for us and worry about insurance. Thoughts?

I will e-mail Tony from Golden-Gate petro and see if they would be willing to hold/sponser some type of "Battle of the Parks" event..

He told me he was looking for something like that.

What if we made it as a fund-raiser for FOE?

That could be a possible magazine article for me! :D

If it were me, I would use the same rules and classes as Bonner did with CalRocs in October... He used WE Rock's rules and broke it down by tire size and novice-pro

Tire Size: under 35”
Tire Size: 36” to 39.5”
Tire Size; over 40”

Then again, I would think you would have to eliminate Pro and just go with the sizes..

Before you start getting people, you need to think about how you are gonna run it, safety requirements, course design, liability etc.

There is A LOT of work to be done if you want it done right.

X2
It's fun for close to home, but not worth it for a comp.
What if....

We somehow got the Altamont to stack boulders in the in-field and hold a comp there? Kinda like the Placerville RockN for the Kids?

It would be REALLY close for the 4x4 crowd in our area....(We could draw from the Bay-area as well as Stockton/Sac.)

Anyone have any connections there?

Actually, Altimont would be a great venue for CalRocs becuase it could draw A TON of people with it's location...

When I lived in Tracy, Carangie was about a 5 minute drive for me, but I think I went there ONCE with my rig and never went back....

It is understandable that places like Prairie City may not be much of a challenge for the big boys, but this is what could make it all interesting for the smaller OHV's...
Having a team event (one vehicle per class) should even some things up...

Courses??? I would think that the Reps from each Park would organize that part and that "all" Park Reps would have the final vote...

I could not find the CALRocs rules, but did find the WE Rock rules easily! Can we get WE Rock to let us use a modified version of thier rules???

On the Liability, I don't think we a re asking to close a Park for an Event, therefore if we keep within the Safety requirements of the Park we should be fine... Although, if we are able to gain enough attention we could always ask some one to sponsor the event... WE Rock???

Organizing reliable Reps from each Park and finding out if there will be enough intrest is a must at this point.

If some one from each area could chime in with some suggestions on how to rally the troops, this would help!
