see I know I'm not the only one and more than likely there are going to be a bunch of pissed people on the lakebed that cant race because there isnt a valve on all the lines.
Well, that is a way for people to make money. Bring extras and sell them.

Rules are rules and these (Ball Valves) are the same rules in every major form of Rock Sports. Koh is different in that it is everything every rock sports has to offer, only tougher, crazier, hotter, longer, more insane, more intense, etc.

I dont remember a ball valve on all the lines including inlet and outlet in XRRA. not trying to be a PITA just trying to get this right as 2600 miles one way is a long way to come race to worry about a freaking fitting that may or may not be right.

wouldnt a ball valve if placed on the bottom of a conventional fuel cell outlet create a problem? or am I over thinking this. wouldnt a ball valve on a cell only work if the pickup went straight out the top of the cell similiar to an ATL?

and then I also see mention of cutoff valves similiar to what Tracey was refering to.
a ball valve will work in any mounting orientation. What you are referring to (I think) is a roll-over valve which has a ball that will move and close off the line when inverted....a ball valve will only close when you manual close the lever....this is how I am understanding it....please correct me if i'm wrong

this is the ball valve i'm using on my pro-mod rig...please let me know if this is wrong Rich...thanks!

100% correct. These must be on every fuel line. Tip Over or Roll Over Valves look like this:

and I believe those are only required on the vent line.

After reading what you wrote doug, I realized we may have been talking about two different things, sorry.

no need to be sorry....just glad we got it figured out...I know there are a lot of people that wont have this just from not paying attention. between Jesse's thread, Tracey chiming in and me there are 3 guys that have a pretty good clue as to what is going on so I'm pretty sure there will be a bunch that do not.

less talk about balls and more pics of the rig
Progress this week has been good! The plumbing is almost done, and I'll probably be starting on the wiring today. Still hoping to have it fired up and running around the parking lot this weekend!:grinpimp:

I'm running one pump at a time, and I've been told that pressure won't flow back through the pump. Think about it, fuel pumps must have a check valve in them or you would instantly lose pressure when the pump shuts off. That doesn't happen.
Depends on the type of pump. Mine needs check valves on the output end to run duals.

BTW, the rig looks good Jess. Very nice job. :smokin:

Remember when the overhead Atlas mount seemed cool on this rig? Now that is far surpassed by the almost-finished product. Really nice work, Jesse. Can't wait to see this thing in a few weeks.
