tranny/tcase crossmember ?

ok i pulled my tranny and transfer case a while back and had my crossmember sitting around. somehow my brother hauled it away for me. thanks brother. and now its gone. so i am missing my trans crossmember, and tcase crossmember and the skidplate between the two. has anyone fabbed there own? pics? or pics of the original? I have a 350/205 combo. thanks

It's a bit in left field from the rest, but mine controls the torque that mine puts out better than an under design.
5/8" plate, and it uses leaf spring bushings on the frame sides, just had to plate the frame and mount tabs.
Bolts to the rear cover where seen, and the other pic is the pto cover which i built to tie into the x-member.

Here is mine. Its completly flat with the frame rails. These pics show it without the bottom skid welded on so you can get an idea on how it was put together...realy simple actualy.

Remember if you stiffen up your tranny/t-case mount you also need to stiffen the motor mount. But if you have a flexy frame (without a full cage in the engine bay) you may also brake your tranny or an adaptor if it is to stiff.

he is right the drivetrain flexes around quite a bit, more than you think it would, in stock form with factory mounts that is

i can take a pic of the crossmember under my 77 k-10 real quick if you want, but its just a common ordinary every day 203 flat one

not an 83-up W-one or anything else

good luck

Stallion, Can you repost those pics? The ones you posted are definitely no longer tranny crossmember pics.
I am about to clock my 208 and want to also be able to tuck everything up a bit more. The stock tranny crossmember for a SM 465 is retarded. I think they designed it to plow fields.

Anyone with photos and feedback on what they did to fab a new crossmember would be . thanks

how far below your frame does it hang? It looks like it would catch a rock when climbing up a ledge. Of course Louisiana doesn't have many rocks or ledges, lol. I'm from there, too.

When I clock my NP208 it will bring the front driveshaft yoke up higher to reduce the drop the crossmember will need. Of course, my issue then will be that my driveshaft angle is going to be big. one fix creates another issue...

Here's mine, it is uber simple and worked out perfectly. My 205 is clocked up flat with the frame rails and I built a simple skid platea under the 205. I am running a stock RUBBER trans mount with poly spring bushing motor mounts in order to avoid cracking the housing on my TH400. This is behind an 8.1L Vortec so there is plenty of torque to brake shit.

it does hang down a decent bit but my rear d-shaft angle is around 27 deg and that's after stretching the body ~12". The center console is pretty tall as well.
And I'm not sure what these "rocks" are that you speak of. :D

I like this one! is that 2"x2" sq tubing and what thickness?

Also what kind of an angle did that give your front driveshaft and did you have to buy a super CV drivehaft?

Yah, 2x2 1/4 wall. My front driveshaft angle is fucked though. I am running a stock CV with a square tube shaft and it is almost completely maxed out in angle at ride height. I had to put a limiting chain on the passenger side to keep it from drooping too far and esploding the CV. Surprisingly, it has held up to 4 months or so of wheelin behind an 8.1L vortec with ~500 ft lbs. I am planning on upgrading to a High Angle 1350 Long travel CV eventually but its not in the budget right now.
