C303 portals
coilover shocks

40" boggers

that stuffs for defenate, cant decide on weather i should go 4-link on the front or maby 1-link front and rear. cant decide on weather i should put 2 hydro winches on or 2 lecci ones and a home brewed centre PTO winch

let me know what you think

Tell me more about the bodywork from the B-pillars back...
Was this a 2-door Disco ? Is the entire cab a replacement from something else ?

That's exactly the idea I had for mine - 2 door cab, pickup back end.

yes it was the 3 door one. the entire rear door pillars have been moved forward and the body has been cut down to the rear wheel arches. it had a 90degree departure angle with 33" BFGs on it

it will not fit to start, you will need to cut it in the middle and put a 2" (ish) piece of plate in there to extend it a little

I heard you can use a early 90s mazda b series pick up bed, and that the body lines match the ones on a disco? I havent seen pics, but its an idea..

NICE! I used the rear section of the roof to close my truggy up!

Pictures on how you routed the snorkel...

I figured it would be :(

The 4-door cabs with the stepped floor are so much harder to deal with. by the time you finish cutting you might as well just make it ALL go and attach another back end...
it is doable with the 4 door one....infact easeyer in some aspects.
why can you not weld the door shut and fill up all thegaps? or fab up a replacement pannel?

air intake is made out of 3" bore solicone hose and 3"x1mm alli tube. i origionally had the airbox from a 300defender in there but took that out and put a rediction hose onto the back of the turbo, as soon as i did that the reaction time improved. im looking at putting a VVturbo on there with a dump valve too.....no perticular reason for the dump valve just want it to go ptssssssssst when i lift off the throttle :flipoff2:

i miss having a tig set :(

Alright, I want to see more!!!

Specifically, inside and outside pics of where the rear bulkhead meets the floor. Also, I'm assuming the big-ass tubing means the rad is gonna be rear-mounted at some point, I'd like to see more of how this is going to be done.

Afi's truggy build has slowed down, but we now have our own tubing bender and it's time to get going with it.

Hope your wrist gets better soon so we can see more build pics!

Cheers,
PT

yes, the rad is going in the back,i doubt there will be room for that and a big intercooler up front. before the wrist insodent i was playing around with glass fibre. going to chop the roof off and replace it with a glass fibre one with an air scoop for the rad. errrm.... photo bucket hates me at the moment so i cannot get pics for you but the rear bulkhead is just infront of the step. any further forward i would have had to cut it up more any further back the proportions wouldnt have looked right

will be buying a JD2 soon so there may be some new pics. i think i could manage dispite my wrist

i dont live close to my workshop anymore:( im going there this weekend if anyone wants photos of spacific things let me know.

I believe that the 3" tube is actually the air intake.

Looks good...PT...get AFI on that truck! it's been ages since we've seen your photo skillz out on here :flipoff2:

Bah! I got a new camera and my skills have improved immensely-it REALLY was the camera!:flipoff2:

Now that we got our own bender, hopefully, the cage can progress quickly-if AFI ever make sup his mind as to what it's gonna look like.

WHY??? Seems like this would be one of those cases where shorter length and bigger diameter (although that looks plenty big) would be better.
You are right PT. I expect the pressure loss on a 3" pipe that length will be noticable.

It does, however, get the intake as far away from the muck and water as possible.
