I got lost with all the numbers. Recap for those who are slow, for a 4.3 1st gear in the AX-15 you need a 1st gear and countershaft from a Toyota R151 transmission.!?

What does the Tera 4 to 1 kit cost? 231 TC with AX-15

 

I have since asked a friend of a friend who works at a Toyota dealer what "My" price would be...

I will post up when I find out.

 

My connection said that the one number was good for the 1st gear, but the other number came back as a clip, NOT a countershaft.

Can anyone confirm that these are the correct numbers?

33421 35130 = counter shaft???

33032 35040 = First gear????

 

Probly like 10% over cost. Thats what my parts guys got me. Mabe they will be cheeper if the parts are puchased overseas?

Any update word on your ability to ship? Prices? If you have the abundant access to parts, there is a demand here in the states. Im one of them. Come up with a list of parts and a package price. Go get your yellow star and see what happens:smokin:

 

FYI. Heard back from the Yota dealer. Countershaft is Discontinued, but there are 3 hidden in warehouses across the country. First gear is available, but there is only 1 in the country right now.

My only question is this.....Is 0.3 deeper gear in an AX-15 worth all that? I don't think you would even feel it. If you had the parts and were in there anyways, then yes, but $1000 on an AX-15 for .3 is silly.

I recently replaced my ax15 in a 97 tj with a nv3550 out of an 04 tj , and i I could definitely tell the difference between 4.0 and 3.87 1st gear.Total cost for used warranted ,60days ,was $900.

 

anybody done this swap?
my works still great, it is much easier now to drive in street with 4.1 gears + 37" tires........ also i don´t need to anymore use so much doubler case in trail.

Thanks for bringing this old post up, but I think a NV3550 swap would be easier and cheaper, especially if things break...

I've been considering this swap, especially since my AX-15 is going to need a rebuild and beefing up as it'll have a 5.9L in front of it in the near future. Its not a swap I commonly see a lot about, so its good to hear that its working well still from some one.
